Architectural Historian – Project Manager

Brockington and Associates is seeking an Architectural Historian based in our Atlanta, GA office for architectural history project work throughout the US- though most work will likely be in the Southeast.

Candidates should hold a minimum of MA/MHP/MS in historic preservation, history, archaeology, or related field. We prefer at least 3 years of field and technical writing experience.

Applicants should have the ability to:

• Conduct historic resources surveys and evaluations;

• Prepare National Register nominations;

• Effectively discuss projects with clients and agencies;

• Prepare budgets and proposals; and

• Write technical reports and publications.

An applied knowledge of Section 106 of the NHPA and a working familiarity of other environmental statutes and regulations are required. Travel, physical labor, and time spent in outdoor conditions are requirements of this job. We are particularly interested in candidates with cross-training in archaeology and/or interest in both archaeology and architectural history.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a professional demeanor, possess strong research and writing skills, and have the ability to schedule priorities, meet deadlines and multitask. You must be able to work as a member of a diverse team, manage projects, and complete other delegated project tasks. You must possess strong communication skills, have the ability to work closely with clients and government agencies, and supervise the work of others.
